The Acousmatic Remix Project (ARP) is a new collaborative project started by Jon Fielder and Steve Sachse and is designed for composers of acousmatic music, sound art and electroacoustic music
Participating composers are asked to submit an original work for fixed electronics along with the component sounds and source materials used to create the work. The pieces are then distributed to the other participants who use the sounds of one composer's original work to create something completely new while referencing the original piece (similar to the idea of a "remix" in popular genres of electronic music). ARP seeks to make the practice of remixing more prevalent in the world of acousmatic composition to create a greater sense of community through shared art.
Each composer who participates must submit 1 original work and do a remix of 1 other composer's work. When all remixes are received they will be compiled and streamed on the ARP website with information and links of the participating composers. CD copies of the remixes will also be available on request.
For information on how to participate please visit the Submissions page.
